Peter founded Active Equity with the core goal of building a higher quality tax credit asset manager in a largely complacent market undergoing rapid and profound changes following the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. He brings over a decade of tax equity and transactional experience to Active Equity, as well as a network of industry peers that he has cultivated throughout that span.
Prior to starting Active Equity, Peter worked at a mid-sized renewables syndication platform where he was responsible for the structured finance activities of the group, as well as underwriting, partnership structuring, and fund management. He had previously worked as a consultant for that platform since its inception.
Before moving into syndication, Peter ran a deal team as a Manager of Advisory and Consulting at Novogradac, a CPA firm, and advised several of the primary investors and syndicators in the space on the structuring of over $3bn of renewable tax credit investments.
Earlier in his career, Peter worked as a Vice President in Acquisitions at Michel Associates where he was responsible for underwriting, due diligence, and closing tax equity transactions. In addition to his role in Acquisitions, he was tasked with originating and bringing private equity investment into the company. He has previous experience in the Structured Finance department of Boston Capital, which dealt with many of the same investors that are active in the renewables tax credit space.
